The Harder It Seems the Easier It Is
|
| The protocol of choice for professional,
personal, one-on-one exercise supervision. The protocol of choice
for general exercise purposes. The protocol of choice for most exercise
applications in rehabilitation. |
| Perhaps the only protocol for standardization
of normal exercise and research using MedX® testing equipment. |
| The essential protocol for exercise-instructor
certification. The crucial fundamental lacking in all commercial
and academic certification programs. |
| The only exercise protocol logically
derived from classical biology and Newtonian Physics (Mechanical)
with a consideration for Motor Learning discipline. |
|
Please Note: This is a required technical manual
for understanding the principles of SuperSlow® Exercise Protocol.
It provides the necessary information to apply to all reasonable
exercise tools. Except for leg press, it does not detail how to
perform each exercise. These particulars are explained in
the SubProtocols and in the Video Series. Eventually the
videos will replace the SubProtocols. The general program is outlined
in the Supplement to the 2nd Edition, available elsewhere on the
website. The most complete rendering of SuperSlow® is
best obtained by acquiring the Technical Manual and the videos.
SuperSlow®:
The Ultimate Exercise Protocol is much like a dictionary.
You may not have read or remember everything in your dictionary,
but you continually refer to it over many years. The Technical
Manual contains a table of contents that highlights the less technical
chapters for those readers who need a gradual progression into
the more technical. Please purchase the book and take its
study seriously. No refunds. |

Supplemental
Super Slow Articles
Articles are $1.50 each, or $14.00 for the complete set of
11.
1. Intensity vs. Work in Exercise
Presents a mathematical model demonstrating that although less
altogether weight and work is performed when rest is denied between
sets, deeper inroad and more-certain growth stimulation occurs. This
article is now presented as a chapter in Super Slow® The ULTIMATE Exercise
Protocol.
2. Maximizing Skill for Musicians and Athletes
A complete discussion of motor learning, a discipline often
misunderstood by coaches, athletes, musicians and teachers. Motor learning
is the discipline of how to practice to most efficiently enhance motor
skills. Most of what laymen and researchers conclude as improvements
in physical conditioning are actually unidentified improvements in motor
skill. This article is now presented as a chapter in Super Slow® The
ULTIMATE Exercise Protocol.
3. Requirements for Functional Ability
in Athletes and Musicians
This logically concludes that muscular address in the key to
all aspects and benefits of exercise. This is the most important biological
concept ever applied to exercise. Its original deduction is the work
of Arthur Jones. This article is now presented as a chapter in Super
Slow® The ULTIMATE Exercise Protocol.
4. Hyperextension of the Back - A Vague
Concept
Explains that "hyperextension" is often ill-defined
and misapplied by everyone who uses it, including most physicians and
therapists. This is the treatise that was the acid test in deciding
several exercise-related, malpractice court decisions.
5. Proper Exercise and its Role in Reducing
Fat
The most important concept fat-loss concepts for exercise subjects
and instructors alike. Thoroughly explains that exercise is essential
for a true fat-loss program, but for several major reasons often overlooked.
6. Feeling, Fat, and 40
This article, by Brenda Hutchins, is not about "Feeling
Fat" - note the placement of the commas. It explains why women
seem to have a sudden increase in clothing size after years of maintaining
their weight and clothing size. An important article for any woman trying
to control her figure.
7. The History of the Nautilus® Lower Back
Machine
Is a technical narrative about the pedestal that was prototyped
for the original Lower Back machine and then abandoned just before production
to save time and retain customers' deposits. See why this miracle tool
fell short of its expectations only because its production commenced
in haste.
8. The History, Design and Function of
the Nautilus Biceps Curl Machine
A long (16 pages, 10 pictures) technical article detailing
the design arguments for the Nautilus Biceps Curl Machine. Included
are the ideal approaches toward the Compound Position Biceps as well
as the extensions of the arguments to the Omni, Duo-Poly, Multi and
Plate-loader designs. these arguments are now proved to be incorrect
except for some bizarre medical applications.
9. The First Definition of Exercise
Goes into greater detail on the years of work and thought that
arrived at The Definition.
10. Exercise vs. Recreation
These two articles are stand-alone reprints of chapters by
the same title in Super Slow: The ULTIMATE Exercise Protocol. They are
available in bulk quantities upon special request and pricing.
Condensed Sub-Protocols
for Selected Exercises
Sold only as complete sets
for $21. No additional shipping charges when ordered with
SuperSlow®: The Ultimate Exercise Protocol.
Each of these one page sub-protocol articles
includes a 1,000 to 4,000 word technical explanation of a particular
exercise. Previously, Nautilus and other equipment companies merely
posted a sketchy outline of how to use each piece of their equipment.
Nautilus withheld detailed technical information because it was believed
to be too arcane for exercise buffs and instructors. Also, most of this
information was never available to the very persons who designed, produced,
delivered or sold the equipment.
These articles are, by far, the most detailed
explanations ever written regarding the proper techniques for the various
exercises. However, we refer to these articles as "condensed"
because they are brief versions of the comparable material including
the design theory and arguments as witnessed in the Supplementary Article
entitled, "The History, Design and Function of the Nautilus Bicep
Curl Machine". Eventually, SuperSlow® Systems will also supply
such unabridged versions for every exercise.
There are 21 sub-protocols now available.
They include the following exercises: Calf Raise, Hip & Back, Lower
Back, ABduction, ADduction, Leg Extension, Leg Curl (prone), Pullover,
Behind-Neck Pulldown, Front-Grip Pulldown, Chin-up, Double Chest (Chest
Fly/Chest Press: two separate sub-protocols), Rowing Torso, Compound
Row, Deltoid Lateral Raise, Barbell/Dumbbell Biceps Curl, Multi-Triceps,
Neck & Shoulder, Cervical Machine, and MedX Leg Press. These
Sub-Protocols serve as study materials for the Super Slow Certification
Practicals Level I and Level II.
